What separates beyond-average screamo upstarts from their emotionally wracked pack is momentous musicality. And Our Last Night has their act locked down, with Colin Perry’s speed-metal licks descending right into a rhythm section that seizes up with a near-fascistic tightness. They lay the bricks on GHOSTS’ foundation and do their best to tear its own walls down as their sibling bandmates, Trevor and Matt Wentworth, barely keep the structure from collapsing under its own brutal weight. Despite its name, GHOSTS finds this fivesome keeping its genre alive and well.
